Sriwahono, a young Bill Gates?

No one knows him as a computer software developer.

But just early this year, he made headlines as the first winner of Mandiri Young Entrepreneur Award 2011 on the category of Alumnus and Postgraduate Student on Creative Business.

Who is this young man named Sriwahono that some now label him as “Bill Gates”?

His recent achievement is somewhat second to none. On the Mandiri award competition, he defeated more than 3,700 candidates from more than 380 universities. In that competition, Sriwahono received high grades from all categories, from innovation, management, to social and environmental impacts. One differentiation he has is that he develops the business based on his study background.

“Most of alumnus and other participants ‘deviated’ from their study background. Many of them set up businesses such as culinary even though it does not relate to their study,” said Sriwahono to one of the local media.

The innovation of Wahono is both outstanding and different. He develops a software called Software Acosys. This software is known to have been able in accommodating the recommended needs of companies. He first developed the software in 2001 and keeps on developing it up to now, of which it now has 23 features. These features will give companies flexibilities on uses based on their actual needs.

Now the Acosys accounting software is for sale all over Indonesia under the Aztechsoft International company, based in Bandar Lampung, a city where Wahono grew up. The company has a branch office in Jakarta and the products are on sale at least in 22 provinces. Up to 2011, there are more than 1,700 companies who are now partnered with Aztechsoft International.
